March - With the growing demand for his paintings, artist Reuben b has received several inquiries to make his paintings available in prints. The artist's work has received increased attention from upscale home decorators, former Hawai`i residents, and upscale Polynesian restaurants. In February the artist increased the number of his artwork on the World Wide Web at Hale Akamai IslandProducts. Several of the new additions quickly went on "Reserve." As a result, Hale Akamai IslandProducts, the artist's exclusive internet marketing agent, has halted listing the availability and pricing of the paintings. With the dwindling number of originals left in the artist's possession, the long turnaround time to produce more originals, and the recent interest in his work, a "thirst" for his work keeps emerging.

February - In an exclusive interview with IAKAMAI.COM, artist Reuben b indicated that he is considering a series of exquisite miniature and life size portraits--a subject the artist says was inspired by the deaths of both parents in 2002. Although hesitant to reveal his subjects, he did indicate he prefers to "paint from life," some of which may be captured from old family photographs, or faces that have faded over the years. He indicated that it is important that his work "reflects the struggles of his own time and personal life on the Big Island." He gave no time line as to when (or if ever) the project would be finished. However, the artist did elude to the fact that he is currently working on the first set of the series.
