We are the exclusive designers of the Hawaiian Adjustable Dangle and Double Mini Dangle Kukui Nut earrings.
The Adjustable design enables the wearer to move the polished kukui nut upward or downward. A durable nylon mesh cord anchors two silver-colored metal Melon Beads to create the effect of "dangling legs" or a "mini skirt". (See illustration below.)
Unlike most kukui earrings our Double Mini nut design is made with smaller "mini" kukui nuts. (Non-adjustable traditional design). Each earring weighs approximately 0.2 oz. for a "lite" dangle.
Why others sell kukui earrings for much less?
Just because others call their earrings "Hawaiian," it doesn't necessarily mean they were made in Hawai`i. In most cases, many of the kukui earrings you find on the Internet were imported from elsewhere. Our earrings are made from real kukui nuts (not wood or plastic) and are not coated with resin or varnish to make them appear shiny. The earrings are designed and put together by our Crafts Kumu (teacher), using the finest materials available. Each pair comes with Sterling French hooks and HAND INSPECTED to ensure there are no hairline cracks. We make them one at a time, here on the Big Island of Hawai`i, with lots of care and Aloha.
