Fresh Dendrobium Orchid Lei Care Instructions
The Dendrobium orchid is very hearty. Upon arrival unpack gently and immediately. Spray or mist with luke warm water then place it in a plastic bag (such as a shopping bag) or carefully wrap with damp paper towels and keep in cool place. Ideal tempearture is between 50 - 60 degrees.
You can place into the refrigerator (NOT the freezer) if you are wearing it at a later time. You can damage the flowers if stored below 45 degrees. The plastic bag or damp paper towels do not need to be airtight. Place the lei on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator which generally is the "warmest" area, and check periodically to make sure your refrigerator temperature isn't too low that freezing will occur.
Lei giving is always accompanied by a traditional Hawaiian aloha kiss and placed on the shoulders (not neck). Your dendrobium leis will last up to 5 - 7 days with proper care.
If you want a lei that will last over the years, you might want to consider our Kukui Nut and Koa Wood Bead Leis or Fabric Leis.
